Dr. John O'Brien named ICGP
President-Elect for 2008 - 2010
September, 28, 2006 - Dr. John O'Brien was
unanimously elected by ICGP Membership as
President-Elect for 2008-2010. Dr. O'Brien is
Professor of Old Age Psychiatry at Newcastle
University in the UK where he works within a
muti-disciplinary Institute for Aging and
Health. His research interests include the role
of vascular factors in dementia and depression,
neuroimaging and dementia with Lewy bodies. He
is an Honorary Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry
in Newcastle, a member of the UK National
Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE)
Dementia Guidelines Group, an IPA Board Member
and Deputy Editor of International
Psychogeraitrics. He served as Program Committee
co-chair for the 2005 (Pittsburgh) and 2006
(Hiroshima) ICGP conferences and was Scientific
Committee Chair of the 2005 IPA Congress in
Stockholm. |
